Retailer’s new store taps tree sculptures, neutral colors to capture essence of surrounding town
Back in 2016, we kicked off our first of many projects with Christine Burdick Designs and Sammel Signs by crafting three 12-foot-tall maple trees that seemed to grow right out of an 80-foot mural wall created by Sammel's team. This was all for a new supermarket called "The Jericho Market". We pulled off making these trees in just over two weeks in our original workshop, a cozy 400-square-foot spot tucked away in the back of a warehouse in Essex Junction, Vermont.
Burdick said that her team focused on the theme of maple sugar, a product that the town of Jericho is known for. The team worked with a local sculptor to fabricated lifelike trees, complete with sap buckets, to line the walls.
